This (ego states) is a fascinating area. At my stage its just interesting to scan for its expression. I love the way you tie the theory in with the fulcrums/waves. I'v recently grabbed Roy Hunters book on Parts Therapy, "Hypnosis for Inner Conflict…

The Integral Mind

[An old post from IOC.]

I made one of my regular visits to my favorite used book store today. Among the handful of treasures I picked up was a book by Merlin Donald, a cognitive neuroscientist and author of… Continue

I'v linked to your two articles on "Subs" from my blog. You'll (no doubt) be pleased to know that your nickname "The OSi Terminator" has stuck from now on :)

Hi Bill -- thanks so much for the welcome. I know this is a super-late reply! I've been busy with a new semester that's just started. I hope to catch up on the discussions here and contribute more regularly.

Bill, you ever think of cross-posting your blogs here on a regular basis?
we still want to learn more about your version of 'integral'

hi Bill, thanks for the welcome :-)

If Wilber's view is from 50k feet, then mine is from 50k kilometers (or we can make it miles for those who don;t use the metric system :-) but also equally like the rest of you guys I am interested in the pragmatic, everyday application of things (so was Sri Aurobindo). Because if it's just theory alone it achieves nothing.

Anyway great to communicate with you in person, like Metro i love your blog! especially the speedlinking section - wonderful finger-on-the-pulse synopsis of what's happening

I think Mike's doing really good work but setting up groups like this one. If Wilber was the catalyst for the "first generation" Integral Movement, then he seems to be the catalyst for the second generation :-)

Exactly Bill.

I wanna quote you on that, lol.

I thing Michael~ has the same thing in mind as well, with OSI. In my communications with him and his group, he seems to be suggesting a more "grounded" vision, with the key focus on "rigor".

I like the sounds of that.

Can you post something to the forum here about how we might start in this direction?

I've been trying to redefine integral outside of Wilber for a while now. I like Gebser a lot, and Spiral Dynamics, and Susan Cook-Greuter. But I also am interested in a more "grounded" vision of integral. Ken admits that his view is from 50,000 feet, and that there needs to be people doing the work to flesh things out at ground level. But I don't see that happening within his circle, so it's up to the rest of us to define an "integral theory" that references but does not rely on Wilber.

That's my current thinking.

Peace,
Bill

I think the potential is huge Bill. What say you about this new "beyond Wilber" approach?

Hey William, I have read your blog and I think it is fantastic. I was tipped off to your blogging from the folks at Integral Praxis.

I like the concept of "open source integral". We can do a lot of "work" with this kind of thinking and discourse.
