Ken Wilber - Interpreting the Singularity

"Is there actually something to the concept of the Singularity, or is it just a sort of mythical Rapture for tech geeks? What are the implications of such exponential advancement of technology to human consciousness? As data becomes more and more free, and therefore more and more ubiquitous, how can the Integral vision help us navigate the "global brain" currently under construction?"

This is self-affirming, self-referential, self-promoting propaganda. Ken and friends...and "followers" go to heaven. W

Interesting video. I think this is a really important topic.

At the very least we can be sure that if humanity doesn't develop a common vision and sense of purpose, all this technology can very easily be used to destroy us as an aspirational presence in this cosmic cycle.

Sri Aurobindo is interesting here -- my understanding is that he suggests that technology will eventually disappear into humanity, and humanity into Divinity. Intuitively this makes a lot of sense to me as technology is becoming more and more ubiquitous and smaller and smaller (and more able to be easily integrated into the human body and our environment). So certainly technology has the potential to help us in our quest for transcending the human condition -- but not without that overarching sense of purpose.
